Derby City Council have revealed plans to tackle air pollution in part of the city.
After a public consultation regarding Stafford Street, the council decided to accept opinion that dealing with excessive levels of nitrogen dioxide from car emissions would be best done via traffic management and rejected a proposal to introduce a charge for vehicles entering the city.
Having failed to meet the Government’s September 15 deadline for a plan to combat the pollution Derby City Council has now been given until November 30 to come up with a business case for its proposal.
The consultation is now open and closes at midnight on Wednesday, November 21. If you wish to give your opinion, click here.
