New Food Court to open in the Market Place.

17/07/2020
The Derby Economic Recovery Task Force has announced that Derby Market Place is to be transformed into a food court and venue for open-air entertainment.
Work will start this week on building the vibrant 330-person capacity meeting and eating space where people will be able to consume produce purchased from local retailers who have been hit hard by the pandemic.

The outdoor venue will feature bookable chalets, tables, a performance area and a licensed bar so diners can purchase drinks to enjoy with their food. It will also be lit at night, have its own toilet facilities and be laid out in accordance with social-distancing guidelines.

Opening on Saturday, July 25, visitors will be able to reserve a table for up to six people either outside, or in one of the 30 chalets and then consume food that they have either purchased from city outlets beforehand or ordered online for which there will be table service.

The opening hours will be from 11am until 2pm Sunday through to Wednesday, and from 11am until 2pm, and 6pm until 9pm Thursday to Saturday.

There is also a website which will soon be populated with more information and a booking system – http://derbymarketplace.co.uk/
