The DE-Carbonise project

05/07/2021

The DE-Carbonise project has been created by the University of Derby, Derby City and Derbyshire County Councils, to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increase their sustainability and save money by reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.

Derby City and Derbyshire County Councils will provide carbon reduction audits, technical support and grants for site carbon reduction measures including:

  • Improved insulation, lighting, heating and controls
  • Efficient motors, compressors, equipment
  • Transport – vehicles, chargers
  • Renewable energy
  • Resource efficiency
  • Waste reduction and recycling

Grants between £1,000 and £20,000 are available in Derby.

The grant covers 40% of the total cost of works (ex VAT), depending on the carbon saving.
