ASB Awareness Week 18th – 24th November

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week is a time to focus on reducing ASB, supporting victims, and empowering communities. Here’s a breakdown of the week’s activities:

Monday 18th – Partnership Day

Visibility patrols will be carried out by Rangers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to enhance public safety:

• Patrol Timings:
  • 2–3 PM: Cathedral Quarter (CQ)
  • 3–4 PM: St Peter’s Quarter (SPQ)

These joint patrols highlight the collaboration between local authorities and community safety teams.

Tuesday 19th – Derbyshire Business Crime Reduction Meeting and DISC Training

Derbyshire Business Crime Reduction Partnership Meeting – 10am at the BID Offices, 12 The Strand, DE1 3RR

Meet with representatives from the Derbyshire Business Crime Reduction Partnership (DBCRP) and the City Centre Safer Neighbourhood team to put forward any ASB issues you are facing or understand more around initiatives taking place. RSVP Here.

DISC Training – 11am at the BID Offices, 12 The Strand, DE1 3RR 

All are welcome for a hour long session to learn how to effectively use the DISC app for reporting any ASB and crime that you may witness. RSVP Here.

Tuesday 19th – Victims Day

Supporting victims is crucial to tackling ASB effectively. Join us:

• 1–4 PM at St Peter’s Cross
  • Meet officers at our gazebo to learn how to report ASB to the police.
  • Information on initiatives like Ask for Angela will also be available—offering discreet help in public venues for those feeling unsafe.

Wednesday 20th – “Let’s Talk ASB” Day

Have your say about community safety! Rangers will focus on gathering feedback through the Community Safety Survey (open until 22 December):

Thursday 21st – Community Heroes Day

Let’s roll up our sleeves and make a difference:

• Tidy Session: 12:30–1:30 PM
  • A collaborative cleanup effort with support from St Peters Quarter, Cathedral Quarter, Street Pride, Police, PCSOs, and PPOs. Together, we can create a cleaner, more welcoming environment!

Friday 22nd – Young People’s Day

Engaging with young people is vital in addressing ASB. Officers will connect with local colleges to discuss the impact of ASB and ways to foster positive change.

Saturday 23rd – ASB and Health Day

ASB doesn’t just impact the community; it affects individual well-being. Partnerships with local organisations, such as Pure Gym, will highlight the link between ASB and health, encouraging fitness and positive activities as alternatives to anti-social behaviour.

Sunday 24th – Community Action Day

The week concludes with a call to action. Officers and partners will work closely with local stakeholders to plan and implement measures that ensure lasting community safety.
