Derby Museums, are appealing to local businesses and the public to help them get over the line with their £1m Endowment challenge.
The charity who brings popular events like the Derby Ram Trail, Assemble: Derby’s Festival of Making together with a packed programme of First Friday events, talks, family friendly activities and hands on workshop courses to Derby, are one of fifteen heritage organisations across the UK who were successfully awarded up to a £1m Heritage Endowment Grant in 2017. The grant provides match funding for every £1 raised from private sources by the organisation up to an agreed grant level to help create or develop an endowment fund to provide a long-term sustainable annual income.
Now in the last five months of their campaign and with just £44,000 left to raise, Derby Museums have been delighted to receive a match funding pledge from one of their supporters who has very generously offered to double match donations up to £44,000 which will take Derby Museums to their £1m target. With this new multiplying effect, a donation of £100 (with gift aid) becomes £500 for Derby Museums, a gift of £500 becomes £2500 and a gift of £1000, becomes £5000. With a grant deadline of 30 September 2022, the race is on for Derby Museums to be able to take advantage of this time limited offer.
As a thank you for donations of £500 or above Derby Museums are offering the opportunity to feature in their Giving Wall display, based at the Museum and Art Gallery. This exhibition space celebrates the philanthropists of the past, alongside thanking the philanthropists of today.
