Derby Ram Trail 2020 Launched

08/07/2019

Derby Cathedral Quarter BID are very proud to announce that we are the presenting partner for the Derby  Ram Trail 2020.

Launched today by Derby Museum, the trail will consist of around 30, five-foot high fibreglass sculptures shaped like Derby’s mythical Ram as designed by sculptor Michael Pegler who designed the existing Ram Sculpture on East Street.

Each Ram will need a business sponsor and will then be decorated by a commissioned artist. The Rams will then go on display at locations around the city June and August 2020.

Once the trail has finished there will be a ‘Ram-union’ seeing them all brought together in once place for the weekend before being auctioned off to raise money for the Derby Museums endowment fund.

This is a hugely important event for the city of Derby. Similar events in other cities have seen increases in footfall across the city centre, greater spend in businesses, increased civic pride, as well as significant local, regional and national PR.

If your business is interested in a sponsoring a sculpture – please contact Amy Simcox at Derby Museums amys@derbymuseums.org or 01332 642287.
