Funding Available for Christmas Window Displays

10/11/2021

Dig out your bright lights and baubles, your snow and sparkles, and your tinsel and trees and decorate your windows for the Christmas Period!

Businesses in the area are being encouraged to dress their windows to bring festive cheer to the city of Derby so be as creative as possible to get your business noticed!

The Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter BID’s are working with Derby City Council to assist businesses in creating Christmas window displays this year.

A limited number of small grants are available to businesses to assist in window displays, with the following three options considered.

  • Option A – Support from a local artist to design the window display and funding to purchase the materials for the business to install the window display themselves
  • Option B – Support from a local artist to design the window display and the artist to install the display
  • Option C – retrospective grant to cover the cost of a window display which has already been installed

Businesses are asked to express an interest by 5pm on 20 November via email to both Helen Faulconbridge, and Pia Bahlman of Derby City Council, stating which option they will be interested in, either A, B or C.

Derby City Council are also introducing a Gingerbread themed trail around the city centre. All businesses responding by the closing date will receive a gingerbread man sticker for their window which will incorporate them into the initiative.
