University of Derby support Covid19 combat by producing PPE

24/04/2020

The University of Derby are helping to support the national effort to combat Coronavirus by producing single-use and reusable visors.

The PPE, which can be mass manufactured for short term use, has been produced by the University’s Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering research centre (IISE).

Local GP surgeries in Derby are  currently testing both visor types, although the primary focus is on creating the single use version which is an existing lightweight ‘one-size-fits-all’ full-screen design, specially adapted for staff treating and caring for coronavirus patients.
