VHS Fletchers Solicitors is an independent law firm providing specialist advice and representation in the fields of criminal defence, road traffic offences, prisoners’ rights, education law and regulatory law. We act for clients in the Midlands and countrywide in both privately and publicly funded cases, from our offices in Nottingham, Derby, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Newark and Ilkeston. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide expert advice and representation upon arrest. We understand that affordability is a concern for anyone needing the services of a lawyer.

VHS Fletchers was formed in 2008 by the merger of two long established firms to bring together related and complementary specialisms, leading to a firm capable of providing advice and representation throughout the midlands and nationwide. Since then, the firm has continued to expand to employ 38 solicitors, including 9 solicitor advocates with rights of audience in the Crown Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

In-house counsel provides representation for clients in the most serious of cases. Quality is assured by our impressive peer review standards and external Specialist Quality Mark. From our six offices across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire we provide a comprehensive service through the whole criminal process from initial instructions at the police station through to the Crown Court and Court of Appeal. We have specialist motoring law solicitors available to defend you at court or the police station in relation to road traffic offences.

Should you receive a sentence of imprisonment, or already be serving one, our experienced solicitors and paralegals will be able to provide advice and representation in all aspects of prison law. The firm boasts a specialist regulatory defence practice, with a track record of representing professionals who are being investigated by the police, professional and other regulatory bodies. We will always investigate with you the most cost-effective way of funding your case, whether that be through legal aid, fixed fees or carefully budgeted and planned private funding.

The firm is one of 6 firms nationwide contracted to prosecute cases on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive. We are one of the few firms in the east midlands to offer specialist education law advice.
