On the evening of Friday 24th September, the Cathedral will open its doors until 9.30pm, offering visitors the opportunity to explore and discover its many treasures.
Lose yourself in the beauty of the Cathedral as it moves from daylight to dusk during this evening of choral music, heritage and culture.
See our stunning architecture and our iconic stained-glass windows as the light in the space fades to evening. Learn about Bess of Hardwick and the Cavendish family and marvel at the connections to many famous names from history such as Florence Nightingale and Joseph Wright.
Visitors to the Cathedral will be able to listen to a live rehearsal by our Voluntary Choir between 7.30 pm and 9 pm.
A number of Tower Tours will be available on the evening, priced at £7 per person and booking for these is advisable. This special evening coincides with the amazing Derby Festé and what better way to watch Cathedral Green then from the top of our tower!
Entry to the Cathedral is free, donations are very welcome.
