Profile

Inspired by The Derby Women History Makers Poetry Walk, join Sophie Sparham for a poetry writing workshop and informal sharing at Derby Museum and Art Gallery.

Critical and celebratory, Derby Women History Makers combines the power, concision and directness of compelling poetry with illuminating research into women as sometimes individually famous, but often collectively anonymous history makers. One of the ten poems is written by a woman – can you pick which?

Following on from The Derby Women History Makers Poetry Walk, the workshop will be an opportunity to write your own responses to the project or bring pre-written pieces to share in an informal and supportive setting.

For all genders. Feminists. Poets. Historians. People who don’t think of themselves as feminists, poets or historians; or gendered. Students of innovative techniques in public history. And everyone else!
