Join local historian Maxwell Craven for an easy 70-90 minute stroll through the best of historic Derby. The walk will take in numerous Civic Society blue plaques, part of Friar Gate, our Grade I listed masterpieces: the Bridge Chapel, St. Helen’s House, the Shire Hall and Cathedral, our historic Market Place and numerous places associated with Derby’s 18th Century Enlightenment figures like Joseph Wright, John Whitehurst, William Strutt and anti-slavery campaigner Thomas Gisborne amongst others.
