Learn the skills to make your own organic sweatshirt!

During this course, Abigail will take you through the step-by-step process of handling a 4-thread overlocker, handling sweat-shirting jerseys, amending patterns and inserting jersey ribs.

You will leave this workshop with a beautiful organic cotton sweater bespoke to your measurements.

Equipment, pattern and materials are all supplied and included in the costs.

Materials and trims of the highest quality will be used. The fabric is organic cotton fleece back sweat-shirting and organic cotton single jersey from a supplier with excellent transparency and a fantastic history of fair trade fabric. The threads we will use are compostable and suitable for jersey wear.

End timings can vary depending on the student’s sewing pace.

Who is this course for?

This workshop is an advanced beginner workshop, aimed at students with no or some experience with overlockers but ideally some previous experience on a sewing machine.

Additional information

Students are welcome to bring their own lunch or purchase lunch in the award winning Museum café.

The Sweatshirt will be made with black GOTS fleece back sweat shirting and ribbing.
