In the heart of the city, Derby’s Museum and Art Gallery is home to a fascinating and diverse range of nationally (and internationally) important collections.…
Profile

Mythic Echoes present ‘Vampire Games Day’; a celebration of vampire-themed roleplaying games that engages with the gaming community.

Dracula had an indelible influence on gaming, with the story reimagining how a monster can be presented. These influences have percolated into a multitude of table top roleplaying games, where vampires are presented as either antagonists, protagonists or as player characters.

The inaugural Vampire Games Day will be held at The Wardwick at the Museum and Art Gallery, where players book one of several vampire-themed roleplaying games that they can play on the day. There will also be a raffle at the end of the day, together with prizes for the best-dressed player and best-presented table.

GM: Faith Elisabeth Lilley (she/her)

The year is 1943. You are a unit of crack vampire commandos coffin-dropped into occupied Paris. You have one mission: Drink all of Hitler’s blood. It’s an over-the-top, fast-paced, action-packed game about killing nazis.

(UN)dead Space

GM: Harper Kenwright (he/him)

It’s a normal day on the job as a space-tech specialist for Lucent Corporation in the grand year of 3142. However, as you come close to the station orbiting the Jovian planet Tyria 61W, there is no answer from the response team to your request to land. The station is quiet, too quiet…

Bereft in Deadly Bloom

GM: Darran Sims (he/him)

As members of a secret society, you have been tasked to investigate the current lack of communication with the astronomer Hugo Gyldén, who is at his celestial observatory deep in the arctic circle. Time is of the essence, as the last communication from Gyldén, accompanied by Purple Saxifrage flowers, mentioned a Lord Ruthven. Information in files stored in your occult library speculates that Ruthven is a 100-year-old vampyre!

Blackout Bay

GM: Katie Walford (she/her)

A lighthouse appears to have been corrupted by evil forces. Instead of light, the structure projects magical darkness that casts an eerie thick fog in the area. You have been hired to visit the lighthouse, investigate and eradicate the cause.

Strahd Must Die… Tonight!

System: Dungeons & Dragons 5E

GM: Jordan Carmichael (he/him)

And you are here, at the entrance to castle Ravenloft, his home and seat of his power.

You do not know how you arrived here or if you will survive, all you know is that you cannot leave and that Strahd von Zarovich, the vampire, the ruler of Barovia, the god of this domain, must be killed. Tonight!

This will be an abridged version of the famous “Curse of Strahd” campaign, designed to be run in a single 6-hour session. Players should come prepared with a level 6 character built to the 2014 D&D 5E Rules. (Pre-made characters are available).
