Anyone walking along Wardwick this week cannot fail to have noticed the flashing screens and
intrigue of Together – a luxe new bar looking to breathe life into Derby’s entertainment scene.
A sister venue to Belong bar and restaurant on Sadler Gate, this is the second project to be launched
by owner Greg Dufton and his company GMR Hospitality in a six-month period, although each bar
has a unique niche and identity.
Located in Derby’s nightlife epicentre at 27 Wardwick, Together is a complete transformation of the
site’s former occupier, Living Lounge. Undisputedly sleek, but with tropical talking points and an
injection of neon, every element of Together has been crafted to offer the ultimate good time.
It is also the city’s only bar with an exclusive dance music policy, and already boasts a busy schedule
of high-profile UK DJ bookings for April and May – including former resident of the world’s best
superclub Space Ibiza, Jonathan Ulysses, who will headline Together’s ‘Ibiza Calling’ event on
Saturday 20th May.
With its mix of plush booth seating, cocktail tables and extensive bar, Together can host 200 people
inside, with a further 100 able to take up position in its starlit outdoor terrace, complete with further
bar, outdoor seating and jungle vibe, which is set to be a stylish hangout as we welcome the balmy
summer nights ahead.
“Since opening Belong in October 2022, there isn’t a day that has passed where someone hasn’t told
me just how much ‘Derby needs quality bars like this’,” explains Greg Dufton, who returned to
Derbyshire following a 20-year career in large-scale events and international artist booking in Dubai
last year.
“Belong is a premium bar and restaurant. Together is a later, more music and dance-driven venue,
but both have been built with a sense of understated elegance, which I know from customer
feedback there is a strong demand for in central Derby. I wouldn’t have gone ahead with Together if
I wasn’t passionate about the city’s regeneration plans, and increasing Derby’s nightlife offering to
reflect the direction we are undoubtedly going in.”
