VE Day Celebrations from your home

Friday 8th March commemorates 75 years since Victory in Europe.
We are still able to deliver celebrations to you so you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
Why not join your neighbours for a stay at home Street Party? Decorate the windows or the outside of your house in Red, White & Blue! You can then follow our timetable below for entertainment throughout the day.

11am – 2 minutes silence on your doorstep

11.30am – Watch a recital of the poem ‘Unmentioned in dispatches’ via our Facebook page. Written by Peter Wyton, the recital is performed by local poet Dan Webber.

1pm – Join @Derby Cathedral for an organ recital via their Facebook page.

2.45pm – Join Derby City Council for a service broadcast from 2.45pm their Facebook page, concluding with the Nation’s Toast at 3.00pm

4pm -Tea & Scones

6pm – Meal and raise a glass to your neighbours

9pm – Join the Royal British Legion on BBC One for a nationwide sing-along-of we’ll meet again following the Queens address.
